Super Sus: Who is the Impostor? was forged in a cosmically not-far-away dimension. The game featured players having the choice to be either a brave Crewmember or sly Impostor and it was an out of this world hit. The outcome? Journey through the galaxy on an epic adventure!
Origins — Super Sus Among Us + Werewolf // Squid Game & more collide into a layered game concept. Most importantly, it transcended time and distance by enabling people to communicate live across the globe. It felt like being in a party of your dreams slash heavenly with an unexpected twist.
The Prompt: The Space Odyssey Super Sus
It was set on a vast flying ark and players divided into three discrete “fractions”. These were deep-divisions, life and strategy-wise; not your everyday mathematical down-falls or pizza-pie slices. The Spacecrews had to always make sure the ship stayed in one piece, and well… it is not scary at all when its something you read on a sheet of paper but those Impostors were secretly trying to kill off everyone else.… then even though they were just neutrals, their success conditions often demanded that someone was dead.
The Science of Inference
The main appeal of Super Sus was the ability to deduce. Kind of like scavenging around and asking yourself, who ate the entire cookie jar without leaving no traces, but a bunch of missing crumbs. There were those who had mastered feigned innocence, and others whom you couldn’t help but eye with suspicion. Oh it was definitely got the mind boggling.
Experiential Cosmic Immersion
Not only that, but “Super Sus” also came with a 3D model that embedded people into the universe itself. It was almost as though you could feel a lightness in the air. It was fairly equivalent to a personal space journey with missions for team mates, or covert sabotage if you were an Impostor.
By comparison, the cunning villains of the game were The Impostors. They infiltrate the group by posing as Spacecrews, and then turn around and stab them in the back. It was almost like a twisted game of hide and seek, except the objective in this case was to reveal hidden agendas, not an object. Impostor status is very intellectually taxing between being sneaky and deceptively clever.
Stars Creating Bonds of Red
The friendships swept in from there though and that was the real magic of Super Sus. It made them feel apart of heavenly meetings, it inspired relationships with beings from the farthest reaches of space. Think of it like a slumber party with friends in four time zones, random guests popping out and because every moment life powers up. It made communication easy as well thanks to the voice chat which allowed you speak like being in same room with someone.
A World of Innovation
Working on the game was like a creative mosh pit. Players could create their own maps and characters to develop new worlds by other compatriots written of avid adventurers. It was akin to being the astronaut as well as the architect. The sky was truly the limit, it seemed!
